Location:
This new 5 star All Suites Hotel is located about 13 miles east of Montego Bay,
Jamaica. Just 20 minutes away from Montego Bay International Airport. Distance

Facilities:
Iberostar Rose Hall Suites has a very unique and elegant colonial design with an
outstanding attention to detail. You will enjoy from almost every angle of the
hotel a spectacular sea view. It offers a main infinity pool with a swim up bar,
an activities pool with a water slide and a lazy river. The hotel offers 4
specialties restaurants, one main buffet restaurant, 1 beach restaurant, and 7
different bars.
Rooms:
273 spacious Junior Suites, some with sea views, all surrounded by beautiful and
well maintained garden areas. Besides, the hotel offers 44 Junior, 54 Premium
Junior, 2 Presidential and 2 Premium Presidential Suites with oceanfront views.
All rooms are equipped with flat screen TV, telephone, iron and ironing board,
coffee maker, mini bar included (soft drinks, beer and water), balcony or
terrace and safety deposit box free of charge. Room service: 24 hours. Every
bathroom has a whirlpool and a shower, hairdryer, lighted cosmetic mirror and

Sports & entertainment:
Tennis, gymnastics, aerobics, water polo, volleyball, ping pong, soccer, dance
lessons, Patois (local Jamaican language) lessons and soccer is only a little
selection of activities available during the day. Non motorized water sports
such as windsurfing, kayak, catamaran sailing are available for no extra charge
as well as introductory scuba clinic in the pool. Scuba diving and parasailing
are with extra charge. Time restrictions on non motorized water sports
activities may apply. A Mini Club for children between the ages of 4 to 12 years

Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Review
Our family stayed at the Iberostar Suites
from April 25th – May 1st. We had our two children 16 and 13 along with a
15-year-old friend. We stayed at the Iberostar Maya last April. If
anyone has any questions about how the two compare, please ask.
CHECK IN/ROOMS:
Check-in was quick and we received the rooms we requested. One King size
room and a connecting Double room for the kids. I had emailed and faxed
this request ahead of time and was pleasantly surprised. I had not heard
back from either email or fax and wondered what the outcome would be.
Both rooms had a pull out sofa. My 13-year-old son slept on it the whole
week without complaint (and he is 5’ 10”). Call early on to have the
sofa bed made up as it took about 3 calls and it was late before they
arrived at our room. We were in 3224 and 3225 and the views from the
balconies were awesome. We could sit out and watch the kids below and
have a beautiful view of the ocean. The safe was closed in the kid’s room
when we arrived. We called to the front desk and they sent someone right
up to fix it for them.
Make sure if you have connecting rooms that you have a key card for both
rooms with you at all times. Housekeeping would shut the doors between the
two rooms while they cleaned. In order to access the connecting room you
need to show the housekeeper proof that it is your room.
The only complaint I would have is that there seems to be some type of
towel shortage. We started out with face cloths, hand towels and
towels. By mid-week we didn’t get face cloths, next we didn’t get hand
towels. Near the end of the week the housekeeping folded up the used bath
mat to reuse and didn’t give us any other towels. It was funny though
because our kids got plenty. We would just ask the front desk to send
someone up with more.
The bathrooms have shampoo and conditioner in the shower. There are also
small containers on the double sink area. Make sure you bring conditioner
as hair seems to frizz up a lot! Also, there isn’t any area in the shower
to put bottles so they need to be placed on the shower floor. The hair
dryer has one setting…HOT. It is a small regular dryer that you need to
hold the power button on while drying your hair.
There are plenty of television channels to choose from. You do need to
bring an IPOD charger. The fridge is stocked with soda, water and beer
every other day. We had to keep asking that they not stock beer in the
kid’s fridge but they did anyway…so keep an eye on that.
DINING:
We felt the food at this resort was very good. The gourmet restaurant is
very good and the waiters were great with our kids. They showed them how
to make different napkin art and engaged them in conversation. The kids
liked this restaurant the best. We also enjoyed the Mexican and Steak
House. We didn’t care as much for the Cajun and thought the Buffets to be
better at the Suites than the Beach. Make your reservations early as some
restaurants are hard to book. We couldn’t get into the Japanese
restaurant the whole week and our kids were disappointed. The beach
barbecue is very good and the second beach party day there was a steel
drum band playing while we were eating.
POOLS/BEACH:
It is very easy to keep track of your kids at this resort. Everything is
centered between the room buildings. There is an infinity pool, lazy
river and a heated sports pool. The beach has very coarse sand. We found
swimming easier at this resort than others we have been to in Mexico.
There is a reef off the beach that breaks the bigger waves. There is a
lot of seaweed but it seems to be small pieces.
We didn’t have any problem getting a good lounger under a palapa at the
beach or around the pool area.
We brought walkie talkies with us and were able to contact the kids at all
times. Find a frequency other families are not using and it works out
great.
SPA/GYM:
I loved the spa. I had a facial/massage and it was very relaxing. My
daughter and friend had their hair braided and they did a great job.
The gym was hot. It was air conditioned but not very cold. The equipment
is new and there is a flat screen TV on the wall. There is also a juice
bar in the gym. The wet areas are nice. If you want to go in with a
spouse, just ask. They will let you both into the men’s wet area and let
the men know as they enter. There are bubble tubs, Jacuzzi’s, roman
baths, and a cold spa. The tubs are set at different temperatures. There
are also Swedish showers.
They offer some type of workout class at the end of the day. I didn’t
attend so I can’t say how it was. There was also stretching and beach
aerobics. The aerobics are held in the ocean and are fun.
ACTIVITIES:
The Star Friends are great with the kids. They offer Bingo, Ping Pong,
Horse Shoes, Archery, Air Soft Guns, language lessons, darts,
shuffleboard, volleyball, etc. There is a computer area with four
computers and billiards. The shows at night were funny. Our kids never
once complained they were bored. Carlos, Georgia, Krazy Kenny, Blanka,
Foxy, Monkey…all great people and the kids had so much fun with
them….especially Carlos!
One last note: My husband’s wallet fell out of his pocket during one of
the night shows. We received a call that it was found by the wait staff.
The wallet was returned with all the money and credit cards intact.
We definitely recommend this resort and wish we were still there. |
