Iberostar Paraiso Maya Review
My boyfriend and I decided on the Iberostar Paraiso Maya for our
spur of the moment visit to Mexico. After reading many reviews on this board,
we were really excited for our stay. This is a great place to gather info!
Just remember, some people can be extremely picky! Your time is what you make
it. We had the best time here.
If you stay at the Maya, you have access to all the other hotels as well, this
place is huge! Check out the map ahead of time, the walks are beautiful and
this entire resort is very clean & well groomed. We only had 4 nights here &
would have loved more. Due to the short stay, we didn't leave the resort, and
we didn't mind a bit. We had dinner at the Japanese, Mexican, Seafood and
Italian restaurants. All the dinners were good, our favorite was the Japanese.
The wine was not very good & caused one ugly hangover so I would suggest
bringing your own. The beers were great & so were the daiquiri's. The
breakfast & lunch buffets were OK. I preferred the breakfast but you need to
get there early. We often slept in & got there late, getting little to choose
from and the service was mediocre. We liked the lunch buffet better in the
Italian Restaurant. Not sure it's still called that? It was better than the
Mexican Restaurant lunch buffet. None the less it's a buffet & you are bound to
find something to eat before you venture out into the sun. We liked the beach
grilled snacks & food too. Save up for dinner.
We loved the beach, it was nice. We also spent a lot of time at the huge &
beautiful pool. The swim up bar is great & the ice cream on top is so yummy!
We ended up making that a daily treat. We loved the wave pool but our favorite
was the lazy river. Feel like a big kid again! We also checked out the pools
over at the Beach & Del Mar. Very nice as well - I don't think there is a bad
spot in this resort.
At night there was always something going on in one or more of the hotels. We
watched part of a show at the Lindo. Cute but we didn't stay for the entire
show. I think it's about the same each time but looked fun for the family. We
brought movies & usually went to bed early, enjoying our lovely room & king size
bed. The room was so nice & there were always nice flower arrangements waiting
for us & plenty of water, beer & soda. We left a note with what we wanted & a
few dollars. They were always gracious to fill our requests.
We'll definitely visit again! We really loved this place. |
