Beautifully situated on the famed Bavaro Beach, Iberostar Dominicana has a great
selection of bars and restaurants, plus offers the facilities of the Iberostar
Punta Cana to all guests.
Almost mirror reflections of each other, Iberostar Dominicana join hands to
create one astounding Resort. When you review the description of one hotel,
combine that with the other. You wind up with two 5 golden apple hotels in one
package!
A maze of seemingly endless pools flow through lavish gardens right to the edge
of a white sand beach. Caribbean style villas are set amidst tropical flora with
soaring palm trees. Specialty restaurants seem to float over lagoons, but are on
platforms with walkways over ponds of fish and spraying fountains. Boasting
the best location on Bavaro Beach, the Resort is adjacent to Iberostar Punta
Cana and facilities of both are offered to all guests at either hotel. Double
your pleasure! More restaurants and bars! Each Resort has ample for it's own
hotel but gives Iberostar guests a choice and flexibility to sample all of them.
Even the two enormous pools run parallel with each other. Lagoon size, and
buried in an oasis of palms. Enjoy either one!
A magnificent setting, gardens are lush and abundant. Platforms over lagoons
filled with goldfish lead to restaurants for buffet and a la carte dining. And
if you want to be in quick steps to the Disco which is open to all 3 hotels
within the complex, the famed "Hangers," with all parts to it created from an
old DC6 airplane is located at the Dominicana. As one would expect of Iberostar
the decor in every part of the hotel is dazzling and whimsical, with huge artsy
chandeliers, mosaics, art, statues, great iron horses - Iberostar knows how to
jazz up a hotel and make it WOW!
Spread between several 2 and 4-storey buildings, the luxury resort comprises a
total of 346 rooms and 176 suites. There is a foyer with a 24-hour reception
desk, a shopping arcade in the Creole style, a hairdressing salon, bars, a
nightclub, a casino and a number of air-conditioned restaurants (buffet
restaurant, beach restaurant, 6 evening specialty restaurants: Caribbean,
Mexican, Oriental, Rock Café, steakhouse and gourmet restaurant) as well as
public Internet access. Moreover, there is a laundry service, room service and a
kids' club (4-12 year olds) on offer. Those arriving by car may take advantage

Iberostar Dominicana Review
It's hard to know where to start...
The appearance of the hotel is very beautiful from the moment you walk in and
the grounds are impeccably maintained. The front desk was warm and welcoming.
There is no pool bar, but the pool is endless and there's a Smoothie bar and
an Ice Cream (best Rum Raisin ice cream) place that are neat additions. I also
enjoyed the little beach hut bar at the beginning of the beach. Yes, the
beach!...Bavaro Beach is amazing! You must see it for yourself. It's an easy
walk to the Flea Market and you can walk forever! I also liked the little
water troughs you step into to clean your feet off after coming off the beach.
I always ate lunch at the poolside buffet, which was very good. There are so
many options. The popcorn machine was a nice touch. They made Paella and other
dishes by the beach, which was a lot of fun. The size of the lobsters were
amazing! If I wasn't allergic, I would have been enjoying it immensely.
The Star Friends were always entertaining. The evening shows were very good
(as far as all-inclusives go). I know that people are picky up this. They
always had a band playing prior to the evening entertainment. I liked the
location of the lobby bar to the evening entertainment...very convenient.
Across the parking lot was the Disco, Internet cafe and some shops. The Casino
was at the entrance to the resort, but it's small...I didn't bother playing.
Rooms were very nice. I stayed in a bungalow-style room, which had a step down
to a family/sitting area. I was near the Dive Shop/ocean. I really liked my
room a lot. The bathrooms are all marble and have great water pressure. No
problemo.
There is an American and a European buffet. I ate at the American buffet and
thought it was very good. There are so many options, even the pickiest person
can find something. (After staying at the Barcelo Premium Punta Cana, Kibbles
N Bits would be a welcome treat.) I only ate at the Mexican restaurant, which
I thought was very good. They have a serve-yourself appetizer/dessert buffet
and they serve you your main course. Service is a little slow, but that's
pretty typical. You're in another country too. I wasn't in any sort of hurry
either. I was offered many more specialty restaurant options, but I decided
not to set a particular time and chose to go to the buffet.
Drinks were very good. In the DR, you have to try Mamajuana. I love that the
bartenders were always smiling. They were very nice and not grumpy. They took
care of everyone and did so in order.
Can't wait to go back!
