Best holiday ever!

We stayed here between 10th - 24th Jan '10 and thought was the best holiday we have had, everything about the holiday was brilliant, i don't know how people can put bad reviews about this place.

We stayed in the Granma block and thought the room was very clean and well maintained by the maid every day, we left out a few pesos for her every other day and she very much appreciated this leaving a little note of thanks and making shapes with the towels! Big tv in the room with a variety of channels to suit most people.

The buffet restaurant is nice i found plenty to eat everyday and the lad that makes the pancakes has a chat with you every day! saying that all the staff are nice and chatty, we only went to the Mexican a la carte once and thought the portions were very small i was still hungry after.

The beach is lovely, its only small but you can walk a long way either way and the sea is very warm and clean. You can get a train to Pilar beach for 5 pesos each return and what a beach it is, you have to go, a restaurant and bar are located here too

The entertainment staff (star friends) do a brilliant job from the morning to night looking after us and making sure we are having a good time, lots of games and activities takes place in or around the pool everyday, but the entertainment at night was good, a cheesy slow dance with the entertainment team takes place between 9 and 9.30 that was a laugh then they have a different show at 9.30 every night which is fun too, lots of dancing and singing shows, the dancers are very good and the singers are too.

We never encountered any bed bugs or mosquitoes so did not need the plug in or repellent stuff we brought with us.

The tourist consists of Argentineans, Canadians and a few Brits, a couple a dirty looks from some of the Canadians but most of them are good fun to talk to.

All in all an excellent holiday and will be definitely will be returning this year some time, normally after 10-12 days on a holiday ive had enough but i did not want to come home, not much to spend money on we gave most of it out in tips which is nothing to us but much appreciated by the staff, this said you do not have to tip.
